KSP 1.11.0 broke a lot of old add'ons
Firespitter
So I build this craft:
Note the floaters with wheels. There're some parts on Firespitter with this problem, you launch a craft with them, and the damn thing jumps to 1KM high. I call this the Jumping Jack Effect.
Until KSP 1.10.1 , you could use World Stabiliser to overcome this bug.
However, on KSP 1.11, we get what follows:
Complete, instantaneous, unplanned and undesired obliteration of the craft. The root part is thrown below the ground line and keeps falling into the center of the planet!
Let's try again, restarting the scene from Launch. Now at least we have some fireworks to entertain us a bit:
Everything that survives is under the ground, but we have this interesting full heat bar below, what hints what gone wrong:
I forgot to take a screenshot of the report of the "mission", but I took one on the Impossible Innovations chapter.
I decided to activate all the cheats to see what I get (and yeah, since 1.8 the widgets are blurred - damn, Squad, not everybody is running KSP on a high end computer! We need to trim down the texture's quality!):
By restarting from launch, the craft obviously doesn't explodes, but boy, the physics gone mad on it!
Spawning the very same craft using Vessel Mover, curiously, doesn't summon the Ravage of the Krakens on the vessel!
Everything works as expected from this point (including what does not work properly, as the FS wheels code)!
On KSP 1.10.1 this does not happen:
Neither on KSP 1.8.1 (I jumped 1.9)
And KSP 1.7.3 works fine too:
So, yeah. It's something on KSP 1.11.0 for sure.
My guess is something not being initialized on the Flight Scene Start - perhaps a race condition? If the part itself would be the problem, spawning the vessel using Vessel Mover would not had fixed the problem!
(to be continued)
